Korentec has a long-standing partnership with the Israeli defense industry, leveraging technology to bolster the country’s security and establish it as a global power in defense and security.
Over its 35 years of activity, Korentec has been integrated into the technological development processes of C4I systems (in various systems such as missiles, aircraft, simulators, and more), training, real-time systems, and software development for various critical projects in defense companies. As such, the company provides immediate response to classified projects at different levels, both within Korentec’s offices and at the customer’s location.
The company takes a significant role in well-known projects of the Israeli defense industry, with an in-depth understanding of the solutions suitable for various operational needs. Korentec provides complex development services, and its teams are partners in all stages of the project, involved from the system engineering and specification stages, defining development requirements, to the final integration tests and delivery of the operational versions to the customer.
Command and Control System (C4I)
Korentec teams are involved in the development of military command and control systems. These systems are designed to provide commanders with a real-time picture of the battlefield, including identification of forces operating in the area, receiving information from various sensors and input devices, identifying threats, transmitting actions in encrypted communication, and more.
The advanced C4I systems developed by the company and integrated into various systems have exceptionally high standards of performance and scalability. They include features like alerts, connection to sensors (radars, recording systems, video), and advanced protocols. The systems operate using an advanced user interface (UI) that saves time and allows for quick and informed decision-making.
Our expertise in C4I development includes:
- Component integration (sensors, cameras, radars, hardware)
- Familiarity with advanced communication protocols
- GIS and mapping-based modules and features
- User-centered design and development
Test Equipment System Development
Korentec has unique teams specializing in developing test systems for defense and medical systems. These teams work in environments with integrated hardware and software systems, in an automated or manual instrument setup. This allows them to verify the proper functioning of a specific product during its development stages.
The testing field requires the development of tests for complex units in various technologies, both in production and in the field. These complex units are integrated into heavy operational systems, requiring diverse system integrations with a multitude of interfaces and clients. Test equipment is used in almost every development lab in Israel and around the world.
Among Korentec’s past and present projects are those with large companies like Elbit and Rafael. Korentec teams were responsible for software testing in military and civilian airborne systems. This involved developing software tests according to software requirement documents and infrastructure, including functional tests, robustness tests, and various integration tests.
The development process included writing test documentation (STD) and execution documentation (STR), alongside end-to-end system software tests for military airborne systems (including writing ATP documents – Acceptance Test Procedure – and ATR documents – Acceptance Test Report). As part of the testing, framework-based infrastructures were developed for white-box automation testing of multiple functions in the software, edge case testing for minimal damage to systems and hardware, and the development of simulators for simulating and testing interfaces and messages between system components and external platforms.
Another project involved testing software development for production lines: a full test of every component in the production process before its delivery. For this purpose, software was developed for a thorough examination of the component using message simulation or hardware value injection and readout verification to check the functionality of the output. An ATP (system-wide including fault initiation) execution process was also performed. The tests included temperature (from nominal), vibration, calibration, and communication tests. Additionally, software was developed to run multiple components simultaneously due to the high number of components in production.
Korentec teams also develop simulators used by software testers for operational software testing. For example, a launcher launch sequence simulator simulates interfaces with different platforms, emulation for tracking systems, communication with various hardware components and boards, and control over parameters in messages, allowing for edge case testing of the software.
Development of Simulators and Trainers
Korentec has expertise in developing complex and sophisticated simulator and trainer systems. These systems serve the security forces, civilian bodies, and even companies in the medical world. They create simulations of various actions, situations, and processes, allowing military and civilian entities to be at the forefront of technology and achieve a business advantage or operational readiness in combat. This is done as part of training, instruction, and professional development processes.
The simulators developed by Korentec teams allow for a high level of versatility and touch upon a wide range of possible scenarios to maximize the preparedness of the people trained using them. These systems involve the immediate transmission of information through the system’s various information channels. They present a variety of scenarios and possible courses of action in response to them, including analysis, statistics, and learning from mistakes.
In the medical world, Korentec’s solutions are integrated into various simulation products. For example, for a project with a global medical device company that develops advanced graphical simulators for simulating medical procedures such as surgeries, catheterizations, operations involving ultrasound, X-ray scans, and more, Korentec integrated a graphic simulation accompanied by hardware mechanisms to create a complete feeling of a real surgery. The system Korentec helped develop allows for the definition of training scenarios based on real cases, a development that has significantly advanced the field. Previously, the entire field involved defining scenarios manually and in a rather limited way.
